Lockhart ISD

M.L. Cisneros Freshman Campus

M.L. Cisneros is the original Lockhart High School. Constructed in 1923, the facility now serves 9th grade. It has received a number of additions and upgrades over the years to better serve its students, including a Gym, Ag shop and Science Wing.

With just under 400 students and a functional capacity just under 500, the campus is fairly efficient. However, upon completion of the LHS additions and renovations, the 9th grade students will be moved to the high school. This move provides an opportunity to repurpose this historical building to house a number of support services. Accordingly, several code and age related improvements were included in the bond program. These improvements include:

  • Upgrades to the fire alarm system
  • Interior signage
  • Asbestos abatement
  • Misc. improvements to finishes
